Job summary

UNC Health in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Nursing Assistant I to provide routine direct and indirect patient care under supervision of a RN or physician. The unit handles pulmonary and nephrology patients, including ventilated and dialysis support.

Requirements include NC Nursing Assistant I certification, BLS, and about 6 months of experience preferred. Work is onsite, 36 hours per week with a night schedule; generous incentive program is available.

Qualifications

• Nursing Assistant I certification required by NC DHHS.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, and procure equipment and supplies during emergencies.
• Observe, collect and document patient information; report changes to RN or physician.
• Assist patients and families during admission, orientation, and discharge.
• Provide care including vital signs, specimen collection, wound care, glucose checks, and activities of daily living.
• Provide indirect care: clean work area, restock supplies, transport patients and specimens, assist new staff on orientation.
