Job summary

UCI Health in Orange, CA, seeks an oncology nurse to provide direct and indirect care for patients at the H.H. Chao Comprehensive Cancer Center.

You will be the primary contact for oncology patients, educate families about cancer care, chemotherapy, and discharge planning, coordinating pre-procedure and follow-up with physicians. A BSN and CA RN license are required; familiarity with chemotherapy agents and strong English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in oncology settings
• Knowledge of chemotherapy agents
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to travel between locations within the health system

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care based on the nursing process for oncology patients.
• Educate patients and families on cancer care, diagnostic procedures, medications, and chemotherapy.
• Ensure continuum of care: pre-procedure planning, chemotherapy protocols, hospitalization, discharge needs, and follow-up with physicians.
• Support clinic faculty and assist with growth of practice and referrals to UCI.
