Job summary

The Cancer & Hematology Centers is seeking a Nurse Navigator to coordinate and guide cancer patients through the care continuum. The role emphasizes patient-centered education, triage, and multidisciplinary coordination in an oncology outpatient setting.

You will educate patients about diagnoses and treatment plans, arrange appointments, and help navigate financial resources and support services, ensuring timely access to care in a compassionate, team-based environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Michigan RN license.
• Oncology certification or plan to obtain within 1 year of hire.
• BLS certification or plan to obtain within 90 days.
• MICMT training or plan to obtain within 60 days.
• ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Card within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary clinical contact for patients and families at consultation and during transition to treatment.
• Coordinate diagnostic work-up, treatment starts, and follow-up visits across ambulatory oncology services.
• Collaborate with physicians, infusion nurses, pharmacists, social workers, and other staff.
• Educate patients about diagnosis, treatment options, and clinic workflows.
