Job summary

Minnesota Oncology is seeking a dedicated registered nurse to provide professional nursing care to patients in an oncology setting. Ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, follow standards, and support ethical clinical practices is essential.

The role emphasizes patient assessment, teaching, psychosocial support, and coordination of care. A BSN is preferred, plus 5 years of nursing experience with oncology background, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred.
• RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Must maintain continuing education requirements.
• Five (5) years nursing experience.
• At least one (1) year of oncology experience.
• Oncology certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote the continuity of care.
• Assess health status by interviewing patient regarding current status and medical history.
• Collects nursing assessment and interventions and records findings.
• Reviews health status data and communicates results to the provider.
• Provides teaching and instructional material to patients and families.
• Provides psychosocial support to patients and families.
• Facilitates communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team.
• Assists physicians with exams and procedures.
