Job summary

Endeavor Health in Evanston, IL is seeking a Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant in Oncology to join our hospital team. This full-time role involves front-office duties, patient check-in, phlebotomy possibly, and supporting physicians with care coordination.

Responsibilities include answering phones, scheduling, collecting co-pays, registering patients, verifying insurances, and assisting with vitals and documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; accredited medical assisting program preferred.
• CPR certification through the American Heart Association is required; MA certification preferred.
• One year of work experience in a medical office or related field is required; on-the-job training offered.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones
• Schedule appointments
• Collect co-payments
• Complete patient registration
• Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
• Check in and check out patients
• Verify insurances
• Greet patients and escort them to exam room
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for visit
• Provide front office support as needed
• Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program

CPR certification through the American Heart Association

Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) preferred
