Job summary

Endeavor Health seeks a Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant in Evanston Hospital. This role supports physicians with front office tasks, patient check-in/out, and basic clinical duties in a busy practice environment.

Required: high school diploma or equivalent; CPR certification; one year of related experience. Medical assisting program is preferred. Some travel to other locations and flexible hours may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred but not required.
• CPR certification through the American Heart Association is required; Medical Assistant certification (AMT, AAMA, ARMA, CCMA, CMA, MAC, AMCA) is preferred but not required.
• At least one year of work experience; prior medical office experience preferred; on-the-job training provided for those without prior medical assistant training.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and schedule appointments.
• Collect co-payments and complete patient registration.
• Provide front office support and verify insurances.
• Greet patients and escort to exam room; document vitals, allergies, meds, and reason for visit.
• Perform basic vitals (BP, height, weight); phlebotomy and injections may be required.
