Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant for the Gynecologic Oncology department at Evanston Hospital in Evanston, IL. This full-time role requires 40 hours per week, with Monday–Friday shifts and no weekends or holidays.

Hourly pay ranges from $19.89 to $28.84, based on experience and qualifications. You will answer phones, schedule appointments, collect co-pays, register patients, verify insurance, and provide essential front-office support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program preferred.
• CPR certification through the American Heart Association required.
• Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) preferred.
• One year of work experience required; on-the-job training provided for those without prior medical assistant training or experience.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones.
• Schedule appointments.
• Collect co-payments.
• Complete patient registrations.
• Provide front office support as needed.
• Check in and check out patients.
• Verify insurances.
• Greet patients and escort to exam room.
• Document vitals, allergies, medications, and reason for visit.
• Perform basic vitals (BP, height, weight).
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Medical assisting program graduate

CPR certification (AHA) required

Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) preferred
