Job summary

Endeavor Health in the Skokie/Evanston area is seeking a Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant to support a busy physician practice. This role handles front desk duties, patient check-in/out, and administrative tasks to keep the office running smoothly.

You will answer phones, schedule appointments, verify insurances, collect co-pays, and assist with basic vitals; phlebotomy may be required. Full-time hours Mon–Fri 7:30am–5:30pm with rotating Saturdays every 5 weeks.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required. Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required
• Certification: CPR certification through the American Heart Association required; Medical Assistant Certification (AMT, AAMA, ARMA, CCMA, CMA, MAC, AMCA) is preferred, but not required
• Experience: One year of work experience required, previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred. On the job training is provided for those who do not have previous medical assistant training or experience

Responsibilities

• Answer phones
• Schedule appointments
• Collect co-payments
• Complete patient registration
• Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
• Check in and check out patient
• Verify insurances
• Greet patients and escort them to exam room
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
• Provide front office support as needed
• Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required

Education
