Advocate Health Care is seeking a Medical Assistant for Carolinas Medical Center - LC: Med Onc: Concord. This full-time, 40-hour-per-week position offers a pay range of $21.85 to $32.80 per hour and a Monday-to-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

schedule. The role involves patient rooming, vital signs, history taking, medication reconciliation, POCT, CLIA-waived tests, and vaccine administration, under the supervision of the provider and within department policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or may have completed structured military training which is clinical in nature per DD214 in lieu of a formal medical assistant program or EMT.
• 2 years of verifiable full‑time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows department policies.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks: vital signs, med reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures and performs lab duties (venipuncture, specimen labeling, packing, orders).
• Performs CLIA-waived tests and other diagnostic testing per CLIA standards.
• Administers medications and vaccines safely.
• Maintains clean, stocked work areas and proper equipment function.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate care and effective communication with patients and team.
