Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or structured military training (DD214/EMT) in lieu of a formal program.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and policies.
• Performs rooming tasks: vital signs, history, medication reconciliation, screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab duties: venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT per orders.
• Administers medications and vaccines safely.
• Performs additional duties: refills, authorizations, scheduling, referrals.
• Cross trained to support department activities.
• Maintains clean, stocked work environment and proper equipment.
• Demonstrates effective communication and teamwork.
