Job summary

Mercy South is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Oncology Infusion Center to deliver high-quality outpatient infusion care. In this PRN role, you will join a dedicated oncology team and collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and support staff to ensure safe, effective treatments in a welcoming setting.

You will assess patients, administer chemotherapy and other infusions, monitor responses, educate families, and document care in the electronic health record, upholding strict infection

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current, valid RN license.
• CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients before, during, and after infusion treatments.
• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, hydration therapy, and other infusion medications.
• Monitor patients closely for treatment responses and adverse reactions.
• Access and maintain peripheral IVs, ports, and central lines.
• Collaborate with oncologists, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, and support staff to coordinate treatment plans.
• Educate patients and families on medications, side effects, symptom management, and ongoing care needs.
• Review laboratory results and communicate significant findings to the care team.
• Document assessments, treatments, and patient responses in the electronic health record.
• Maintain oncology treatment safety standards and infection prevention practices.
• Provide compassionate support to patients and families throughout the treatment process.
