Job summary

Mercy South’s Infusion Cancer Center is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide compassionate, specialized care in an outpatient oncology infusion setting. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to administer infusions, educate patients, and monitor treatment responses. The role supports the cancer center’s commitment to patient-centered care and safety.

Position is PRN with day shifts from 8:00am to 4:30pm, located at the David M. Sindelar Cancer Center in St. Louis, MO.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current, valid RN license.
• CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Experience is not required, but oncology infusion experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients before, during, and after infusion treatments.
• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, hydration therapy, and other infusions.
• Monitor for treatment responses and adverse reactions.
• Maintain peripheral IVs, ports, and central lines.
• Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, and support staff on treatment plans.
• Educate patients and families on medications, side effects, and care needs.
• Document assessments and responses in the EHR.
• Uphold infusion safety standards and infection control.

Position Details

Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology Infusion Center - Mercy South

Location: David M. Sindelar Cancer Center - 10050 Kennerly Rd, St. Louis, MO 63128

PRN | Mon-Fri | Day Shift | 8:00am-4:30pm

What You'll Do

As an Infusion RN, you will:

• Assess patients before, during, and after infusion treatments
• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, hydration therapy, and other infusion medications
• Monitor patients closely for treatment responses and adverse reactions
• Access and maintain peripheral IVs, ports, and central lines
• Collaborate with oncologists, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, and support staff to coordinate treatment plans
• Educate patients and families on medications, side effects, symptom management, and ongoing care needs
• Review laboratory results and communicate significant findings to the care team
• Document assessments, treatments, and patient responses in the electronic health record
• Maintain oncology treatment safety standards and infection prevention practices
• Provide compassionate support to patients and families throughout the treatment process

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Licensure

• Current, valid RN license

Certification

• CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
