Job summary

Mercy South's Oncology Infusion Center seeks an RN to join the Infusion Cancer Center team. As an Infusion RN, you will assess patients before, during, and after infusion treatments, administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive infusions, monitor responses, and coordinate care with oncologists and pharmacists in an outpatient setting. This part-time role is 24 hours per week, Monday through Friday, day shift from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm at the David M.

Sindelar Cancer Center in St. Louis.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current, valid RN license.
• CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
• Previous experience is not required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients before, during, and after infusion treatments.
• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, hydration therapy, and other infusion medications.
• Monitor patients for treatment responses and adverse reactions.
• Access and maintain peripheral IVs, ports, and central lines.
• Collaborate with oncologists, providers, pharmacists, and staff to coordinate treatment plans.
• Educate patients and families on medications, side effects, and ongoing care needs.
• Review lab results and communicate significant findings to the care team.
• Document assessments and patient responses in the electronic health record.
• Maintain oncology safety standards and infection prevention practices.
• Provide compassionate support to patients and families throughout treatment.
