Job summary

The County of Ventura is seeking a Pharmacy Supervisor to oversee the Oncology Infusion Center pharmacy services. The ideal candidate will have extensive oncology pharmacy experience, strong leadership, and expertise in inventory management within a hospital or outpatient setting.

The role requires a pharmaceutical degree, a California pharmacist license, and at least five years of relevant pharmacist experience, including oncology infusion.

Qualifications

• Pharmaceutical degree from an accredited school of pharmacy.
• Five years of pharmacist experience in inpatient, clinical, or oncology infusion pharmacy.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Pharmacist license issued by the State of California.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a first line administrative, clinical and technical source for professional and support pharmacy personnel.
• Develops quality assurance criteria and monitors quality of care in pharmacy services.
• Interviews, selects, and recommends selection of professional and other pharmacy personnel.
• Orients and trains new employees and assesses competencies.
• Manages budgeting, purchasing and productivity planning.
• Establishes and enforces pharmacy policies, procedures and quality control.
• Oversees inventory, pharmacy database and purchasing processes with medication safety in mind.
• Designs internal controls for narcotics and controlled substances and enforces security measures.
• Ensures regulatory documentation and unit inspections are completed.
• Performs staff pharmacist duties as needed and serves as Pharmacist in Charge.
