Job summary

UC San Diego Health's Infusion pharmacy seeks a highly motivated and compassionate pharmacist to join our team. This position will focus on providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients receiving chemotherapy infusions within the ambulatory oncology settings of Moores Cancer Center and Koman Outpatient Pavilion.

Qualifications

• Doctorate of Pharmacy degree or equivalent clinical experience.
• Licensed Pharmacist in California (RPH).
• Possible pathways: PGY2 oncology residency or PGY1 plus 1 year of pharmacist experience, or 4 years of pharmacist experience.

Responsibilities

• Review chemotherapy regimens for accuracy and appropriateness, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
• Oversee the preparation and dispensing of chemotherapy medications, adhering to strict safety protocols and quality standards.
• Provide comprehensive patient counseling on medications to infusion center patients.
• Precept pharmacy residents and students, providing guidance and mentorship on clinical practice and patient care.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance safety and effectiveness of oncology care.
