Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle, WA, is seeking a Registered Nurse for infusion on weekends (0.5 FTE). The RN will provide patient-centric oncology care, perform assessments, plan and evaluate care, and work with an interdisciplinary team.

Oncology training provided for those without prior oncology experience; BLS/ONS Chemotherapy Provider Card required. Relocation and shift differentials may apply as part of the compensation package.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Washington RN license or NLC multistate license; must upgrade to WA MSL within 60 days.
• ONS Chemotherapy Provider Card; BLS card renewed every 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs and evaluate adaptation to health changes.
• Develop and implement a care plan based on disease, symptoms, and treatment response.
• Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatment, side effects and symptom management.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.
• Refer patients and families to social work, home health care, nutrition, and other resources.
• Administer IV hydration, electrolyte replacement, chemotherapy/biotherapy, and blood products.
• Handle hazardous drugs safely and dispose of materials per procedures.
• Educate patients and families in coordination with treatment and care plans.
