American Oncology Network, Inc. seeks a Financial Counselor at Mid America Cancer Care Centers to serve as the patient advocate for financial navigation and counseling in an oncology practice.

You will review insurance coverage, estimate patient responsibility, coordinate prior authorizations, and assist with financial aid programs to remove barriers to care while supporting compassionate patient service. Qualifications

• Two years experience in healthcare, preferably in healthcare financial counseling or patient access.
• Experience verifying pre-certification and prior authorization with medical insurance.
• Experience with patient assistance programs and financial aid resources.
• Prior cash handling and monetary collection experience.
• Ability to calculate and collect patients' responsibility and insurance co-pay/coinsurance.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD9/10 and CPT codes.
• Excellent verbal and communication skills to support diverse patient populations with empathy and cultural sensitivity.

Responsabilités

• Verify insurance benefits and coordinate pre-certification and authorizations.
• Estimate patient financial responsibility and explain insurance benefits.
• Maintain up-to-date insurance benefits in EMR and review services for coverage.
• Coordinate with providers, UM team and billing staff on fiscal responsibility.
• Assist patients with completing forms for financial aid and grants.
• Monitor and collect patient payments and establish payment plans.
