Job summary

American Oncology Management Company is seeking a Patient Financial Counselor to serve as the primary advocate for financial navigation within our oncology practice. You will review insurance coverage, establish patient financial responsibility estimates, and coordinate prior authorizations to ensure access to cancer treatment.

Qualifications

  • Familiar with patient assistance programs, grant-funded resources, and pharmaceutical support.
  • Proficient in EMR systems, practice management software, and insurance verification tools.
  • Advanced MS Office skills: Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Strong communication and empathy when discussing finances with patients.
  • Able to work collaboratively with clinical teams, insurers, and external organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Verify insurance coverage and determine patient financial responsibility.
  • Coordinate prior authorizations and benefit verification with payers and care teams.
  • Educate patients on benefits, costs, and available financial assistance programs.
  • Maintain HIPAA-compliant privacy and support compliant billing and collections.
