Job summary

Banner Health in Phoenix is seeking a PAS Financial Specialist to coordinate insurance verification, registrations, financial counseling and claims research for oncology.

You will partner with the clinical care team to determine the financial impact for the patient and serve as the primary contact for any questions related to finances across the treatment continuum, ensuring a seamless experience for patients and families.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate’s Degree, focus in social work, healthcare administration or finance.
• Minimum three years of diversified experience in hospital Patient Registration/Financial Services.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and time-management skills.
• Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and background checks per hire.
• Understanding of Medicare, Medicaid and other program benefits.

Responsibilities

• Pre-registration/registration and coordinating initial authorizations.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain authorizations and notifications.
• Provide financial counseling and explain billing policies.
• Assist uninsured patients in accessing funding resources.
• Liaise with payors to maximize reimbursement and resolve issues.
• Lead or train others within the financial team as needed.
• Work independently in a fast-paced environment with sound judgment.
