Job summary

Merck is seeking an Oncology Sales Representative to grow our Memphis, TN territory and nearby Jackson, MS. This field-based role requires travel to visit customers and participate in national meetings.

You will educate stakeholders, address needs, and drive sales goals with a patient-centered approach across Oncology products. The position emphasizes collaboration with the Oncology Customer Team Leader and cross-functional partners to deliver seamless customer experiences and robust market

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years of sales experience OR a minimum of high school diploma with at least 8 years of equivalent experience.
• Equivalent experience can be professional sales experience, work experience in the healthcare/scientific field with oncology experience being strongly preferred (including pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical devices) that is not sales related, professional marketing experience, or military experience.
• Valid driver’s license and able to drive a vehicle.
• Travel the amount of time the role requires, including overnight travel 10 - 15%.
• Reside in or within a reasonable distance to the district.

Responsibilities

• Attain or exceed the assigned sales goals for the geography.
• Meet with key stakeholders to understand practice structure, business model, and key influencers, while building business relationships and trust to uncover and comprehend needs.
• Communicate a patient-centered rationale for our oncology products in indicated uses.
• Understand cancer staging, treatment options, pathways, and guidelines related to different tumors/diseases.
• Analyze trends in a complex buying environment and multiple channels of drug distribution.
