Job Description

CVP is seeking a passionate Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) to join our innovative team dedicated to revolutionizing healthcare within the Veterans Health Administration. Responsibilities

• Maintain records, including submission of complete case abstracts.
• Conduct timely case ascertainment and accession to VHA-approved software.
• Perform data curation and abstraction into VHA-approved cancer registry databases.
• Meet reporting requirements of relevant cancer registries and organizations.
• Maintain CTR credentials through NCRA.
• Participate in continuing education as required by national standards.
• Ensure confidentiality and security of patient records per regulations.
• Provide reports to support quality and process improvement activities.
• Complete TNM staging fields accurately during case processing.
• Adhere to all registry operation standards and guidelines.

Qualifications

• Eligible for a Public Trust security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong commitment to data quality and integrity.
• CTR certification required.
• Excellent analytical, oral, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Proficiency in MS Office.

Desired Skills

• Knowledge of VA databases and datasets.
