Job summary

Minnesota Oncology is seeking a Medical Assistant/Clinical Assistant to support physicians and clinicians in a fast-paced oncology clinic. The role includes patient care, clerical tasks, and maintaining schedule flow across our Woodbury, Maplewood, and Hudson (WI) clinics.

The candidate should be a graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program with CPR certification; MA certification/registration is preferred and can be obtained within 6 months. Oncology experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
• Current CPR Certification is Required.
• Current Certified MA or Registered MA is Preferred (must be willing to obtain certification/registration within 6 months of hire).
• 2-3 Years of Experience Preferred, Oncology Experience Helpful.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment room as appropriate.
• Record patient data prior to each physician visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
• Obtain all necessary patient records as required by physician prior to treatment or procedures.
• Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and orders supplies as needed.
• Assist physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
• Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections as delegated by RN or physician.
• Maintain all exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
• Answer patient telephone calls for referral to physician or nurse/pharmacist.
• Phone in prescriptions and make other patient calls as directed by physicians and RN.
• Informs physician of patient reschedules and no shows.
• Performs other administrative duties as requested by supervisor or physician.

Diploma or equivalent from an accredited Medical Assistant Program
