Job summary

US Oncology Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and clinicians in a busy oncology clinic. This entry-level position includes patient prep, data collection, and basic clerical tasks to keep patient flow smooth.

Responsibilities cover exams, injections as delegated, room stocking, and calls management. A high school diploma and MA certification are preferred, with BCLS within 3 months of hire. On-site position with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; MA program preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred; BCLS certification within 3 months of hire.
• 1–3 years entry level experience in medical assisting or nursing support.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to/from exam rooms and treatment areas.
• Record vitals, allergies, meds, and changes prior to visits.
• Obtain necessary patient records before procedures.
• Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms; order supplies.
• Assist physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
• Administer injections as delegated by RN or physician.
• Maintain room disinfection and infection control protocols.
• Answer calls for referrals to physician/nurse/pharmacist.
• Enter prescriptions and communicate with patients as directed.
• Inform physician of reschedules and no-shows; update charts.
• Perform other administrative duties as needed.
