Job summary

Silver Cross Hospital is seeking a Medical Records Intake Coordinator to initiate and track the acquisition of medical records, imaging, labs, and prior authorizations to prevent delays in care.

You will work closely with oncology patients to coordinate the status of procedures, imaging, and appointments before their first oncology consultation, ensuring thorough preparation for the visit.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in outpatient healthcare as a medical assistant, intake coordinator, or billing/auth specialist.
• Knowledge of CPT and procedure codes; outpatient billing practices for infusion and outpatient clinic; inpatient oncology billing codes may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and track acquisition of medical records, imaging, labs, and prior authorizations to prevent delays in care.
• Coordinate with oncology patients to communicate status of procedures, imaging, and appointments before first oncology visit.
• Obtain necessary imaging, labs, and records to support ongoing treatment and evaluation for new and existing patients.
• Secure prior authorizations for imaging, labs, and procedures to avoid delays in care.
