Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals in Morgantown is seeking a certified nursing assistant to perform direct patient care under RN supervision. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor vital signs, and help with transports and examinations, ensuring quality, safety, and patient comfort in a fast-paced unit.

The role supports a family-centered experience, with responsibilities spanning basic nursing tasks, infection control, and collaboration with the care team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS or HeartSaver First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.
• Prior patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in direct patient care with basic physical care as directed by RN.
• Help patients with activities of daily living and bed making.
• Safely transport patients to tests and procedures; escort for discharge.
• Perform routine tests (glucose monitoring where permitted) and maintain logs.
• Take vital signs and record temperatures, pulses, respirations, BP, I&O.
• Provide respiratory support and assist with rehab/ PT activities.
• Communicate any patient concerns to the RN promptly.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and report equipment issues.
