Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals in Morgantown seeks a compassionate Nursing Assistant to support registered nurses in delivering patient-centered care during night shifts. This role emphasizes bedside support, vital signs, and efficient patient flow.

You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor patient status, and help maintain a clean, safe environment while communicating clearly with patients and families. Training provided for department procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS or HeartSaver First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.
• Prior patient care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in direct patient care under RN supervision.
• Help with activities of daily living and bed making.
• Safely transport patients and participate in discharge tasks as needed.
• Perform routine point-of-care tests and maintain logs where required.
• Record vital signs and intake/output measurements accurately.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and assist with basic rehab activities.
