Job summary

Greater Washington Oncology Associates is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support physicians in patient care and teaching. You will write prescriptions, interpret tests, assess patients, and determine trial eligibility while participating in rounds and on-call duties.

The role requires a master’s degree, APRN/PA licensure, prescriptive privileges, and oncology experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant program.
• Master’s degree required.
• Requires APRN or PA license in appropriate state; prescriptive privileges eligible.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician in care and teaching of patients.
• Write prescriptions for medications and therapeutic measures per protocols.
• Determine patient eligibility for clinical trials; interpret study results.
• Relate care information to collaborating physician; document care accurately.
• Provide on-call coverage and hospital rounds as needed; triage urgent cases.
• Dictate or write patient histories, admissions, progress and discharge notes.
• Assist staff during crises; market cancer treatment to the public.
• Meet work priorities and ensure completion; adhere to HIPAA and policies.
