Job summary

The Center for Cancer & Blood Disorders is hiring an APRN/PA to support physicians in patient care at our Bethesda, MD site. The role emphasizes oncology expertise, clinical trials access, and collaborative rounds.

Requirements include NP/PA program graduate, master’s degree, oncology experience, and state APRN/PA license with prescriptive privileges. Travel <25% may apply; standard hours 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant program.
• Master’s degree required.
• APRN or PA license in appropriate state with prescriptive privileges.
• BBLS (Basic Life Support) certification current.
• Minimum 5 years experience as APRN or PA, Oncology focused.

Responsibilities

• Assess the physical and psychosocial status of patients by interview, history, exam and tests.
• Write prescriptions for medications, blood products, diagnostics and follow-ups per protocol.
• Determine eligibility for entry into clinical trials based on findings.
• Interpret and evaluate findings of studies and tests.
• Relay information regarding patient care to the collaborating physician.
• Administer therapeutic measures and obtain specimens as prescribed.
• Dictate follow-up letters, progress notes and discharge summaries.
• Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds for quality care.
• Provide on-call coverage and hospital rounds as needed.
• Triage patients to determine urgency of physician evaluation.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and policies.
