Job summary

Syndax Pharmaceuticals is seeking an Oncology Account Manager in San Diego to lead territory sales, build relationships with physicians, advanced practitioners, and hospital buyers, and deliver strategic customer education. A BA/BS and at least 5 years in pharma/biotech sales, preferably oncology, are required.

Travel to accounts is frequent, and base compensation ranges from $215,000 to $235,000 per year with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• BA/BS or healthcare equivalent degree required.
• Minimum 5+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech/medical sales experience with oncology/hematology preference.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical marketplace and healthcare trends.
• Collaborative, matrixed team player with strong negotiation and influencing skills.
• Experience with large accounts/hospitals and successful product launches.
• Start-up pharma/biotech experience preferred and data-driven mindset.
• Willingness to travel frequently, including overnights.

Responsibilities

• Meet territory sales targets by leveraging relationships with physicians, APs, nurses, pharmacists, and office stakeholders.
• Develop deep understanding of territory dynamics, payer/reimbursement, and competitive landscape.
• Create and execute territory plans, deliver branded messages, and run programs.
• Provide strategic customer education and clinical disease/product expertise.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to align strategies and tactics.
• Identify patients and manage appropriate treatment pathways in accounts.
• Build external relationships with account stakeholders to expand access and value.
• Maintain passion for Syndax products and drive results through the entire sales cycle.
