About the Role
Are you highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering a great candidate experience? Join Krise Transportation as an Onboarding Specialist and play a critical role in welcoming new employees into our growing, statewide school transportation team.
In this role, you’ll be the go-to expert for managing the pre-employment process from start to finish—ensuring every background check, clearance, document, and onboarding step is completed accurately, efficiently, and with care. You’ll partner with candidates, recruiters, hiring managers, and external vendors to make sure every hire begins their journey with confidence and clarity.
If you thrive in a fast-paced, people-first environment and love keeping processes running smoothly behind the scenes, this role is for you.
What You’ll Do
Own the full pre-employment onboarding lifecycle: from background checks and clearances to employment documentation.
Serve as a trusted partner to candidates—answering questions, guiding them through the onboarding process, and providing timely updates.
Work closely with recruiters and hiring managers to ensure a seamless handoff from offer to day one.
Coordinate with third-party vendors for drug tests, motor vehicle records, and background screenings—and track results to ensure timely processing.
Identify and resolve onboarding issues proactively, escalating concerns when needed and keeping stakeholders informed.
Manage documentation with precision, including scanning, uploading, and maintaining personnel files.
Support high-volume onboarding during hiring events and job fairs when needed.
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or a related field preferred—but 4+ years of related HR or onboarding experience is welcome in place of a degree.
Proven success supporting non-exempt or part-time hiring in fast-paced environments.
Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and onboarding compliance requirements.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills—you’re professional, approachable, and able to build trust quickly.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management—you don’t let anything fall through the cracks.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams; experience with HRIS or ATS systems (especially Paycom) is a plus.
A flexible, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Who You’ll Work With
You’ll report to the Human Resources Director and collaborate daily with recruiters, operations managers, and other HR and administrative professionals across the Krise organization.
