Job summary

The University at Buffalo Campus Dining & Shops is seeking an Onboarding Specialist to join the Human Resources team. You will guide new hires through orientation, explain policies, and acclimate them to our culture and work units.

Qualifications

• Education: Preferred Bachelor's degree (four-year college or technical school) or equivalent experience required.
• Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Spreadsheet experience, word, and general computer knowledge

Responsibilities

• Performs orientations for new hires and training along with tours and site visits to various units.
• Processing of new hire paperwork including tax forms, I9’s, policy and procedure sign offs, training, and other documents required to onboard new hires
• Data entry into UKG for timekeeping, personnel, and payroll related information
• Answers Human Resource main phone line and responds to employee questions
• Communication skills and communicating expectations clearly to new hires and when answering employee questions
• Collaborates with HR ticket system to respond to employee and management questions or password resets
• Completes employment verifications and tracks hours for probationary employees and temporary staff
• Assists with hiring and processing of student new hires and maintains HR paperwork filing
