Job summary

Hornblower Group is seeking a Restaurant Supervisor to lead the front of house aboard our Coast Guard-inspected vessel serving Norfolk area passengers. You will oversee dining service, train staff, enforce safety standards, and ensure guest satisfaction in a dynamic onboard environment.

The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma (associate degree in hospitality preferred), at least two years of supervisory guest service experience, and certifications in SERV Safe and TIPS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in hospitality management or related field is a plus.
• Minimum of two years guest service supervisory experience.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Certification in Health & Hygiene – SERV Safe
• Certification in Alcohol Service – TIPS for managing onboard bars.
• Excellent guest service skills and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences.
• Proficiency in computer systems and software such as POS systems.
• Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of restaurant front of house staff to ensure efficient and effective operations.
• Ensure that all food and beverages are prepared and served to quality standards and customer preferences.
• Train and develop restaurant staff to provide excellent customer service and maintain high levels of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Maintain accurate records of restaurant transactions, including sales, inventory, and customer feedback.
• Resolve guest complaints promptly and professionally.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and restaurant policies.
• Collaborate with management to improve restaurant performance and profitability.
• Assist with recruitment and hiring of new restaurant staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
