Job summary

Hornblower Group, a global leader in experience and transportation, seeks a Restaurant Supervisor to oversee front of house on our cruise-based dining programs in Chicago. You will lead the front of house team, ensure guest satisfaction, and uphold safety and service standards.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in guest services supervision, SERV Safe and TIPS certifications, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences in a dynamic, evening-driven environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in hospitality management or related field is a plus.
• Minimum of two (2) years guest service supervisory experience.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Certification in Health & Hygiene – SERV Safe
• Certification in Alcohol Service – TIPS for onboard bars.
• Excellent guest service skills and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences.
• Proficiency in computer systems and POS
• Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate front of house staff to ensure efficient operations.
• Ensure food and beverages are served according to quality standards and guest preferences.
• Train and develop staff to provide excellent customer service and maintain cleanliness.
• Maintain records of restaurant transactions, including sales, inventory, and customer feedback.
• Resolve guest complaints and ensure timely, professional handling.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and restaurant policies.
• Collaborate with management to improve performance and profitability.
• Assist with recruitment and hiring of new restaurant staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
