Job summary

Hornblower Group is seeking a Server Assistant to support our crew aboard a moving passenger vessel in Norfolk, VA. You will help servers deliver food and beverages, clear dishes, and ensure a welcoming dining environment for guests.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, sharing menu and cruise route information, and maintaining clean, safe service areas. The role requires energy, reliability, and a passion for hospitality on a dynamic shipboard team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in hospitality or food service preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, attentive hospitality to guests throughout their cruise experience.
• Assist servers with delivering food and beverages and clearing used dishes.
• Scrape, stack, and transport tableware to the galley for cleaning.
• Set up and break down dining rooms and service stations.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized guest areas and service stations.
• Assist with greeting and seating guests in a welcoming and efficient manner.
• Provide guests with information about menus, service, entertainment, cruise routes, and points of interest.
• Support teammates and complete additional duties as assigned.
