Job summary

American Cruise Lines is seeking a Cook to join the shipboard culinary team for the 2026 season on America’s rivers. You will work with the Executive Chef to prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner using local ingredients, aboard ships with a strong focus on cuisine and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities include organizing kitchen workload, adhering to dietary requests, and maintaining food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of culinary experience in full-service resort, hotel, country club or full-service restaurant.
• Experience cooking breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
• Familiar with food safety standards.
• Strong problem solving, organizational, and self-motivation skills.
• Able to lead and manage time effectively.
• Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to pass pre-employment drug test and background check.
• TWIC holder required.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with the Executive Chef/Sous Chef to produce diversified meals for guests.
• Organize workload in the kitchen to ensure efficient kitchen processes.
• Produce high-quality dishes following the established menu.
• Adhere to guests' dietary requests.
• Maintain order and discipline in the kitchen during shifts.
• Ensure hygiene and food safety standards are observed throughout preparation.
• Ensure meals are prepared quickly and deliciously.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers for all meal services.
