National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) seeks an Employee in Charge to provide essential on-track safety services for freight railroads and transit systems in Burns, OR.

The role requires strong communication, field reporting, and willingness to travel up to 85% of the time; duties include setting up derails, coordinating crews, and enforcing safety policies, with competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a railroad company, preferably maintenance of way.
• Ability to travel for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Provide On-Track Safety, including derails and track signs.
• Prepare daily field reports and report rule violations.
• Coordinate job-site activities and communicate with Dispatchers and Train Crews.
• Conduct safety briefings before entry to track.
• Enforce Railroad, State, and Federal policies.
