Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) is seeking an Employee in Charge (EIC) to provide essential on-track safety services for freight railroads, transit systems, state DOTs, and rail industry partners.

This field role requires travel 50%–85%, strong communication, supervision of crew, completion of training, and strict adherence to all railroad and federal policies. NRSS delivers safety services across the continental United States and beyond.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with tablets and smartphones for coordinating train movements.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to travel for extended periods.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a railroad company, preferably MOW.
• Ability to complete required training.

Responsibilities

• Provide On-Track Safety such as setting derails, track signs, and safety tools.
• Prepare daily field reports and report any rule violations.
• Provide job-site coordination.
• Radio contact with Dispatchers and Train Crews to communicate safety status.
• Conduct mandatory briefings with all crew members before track entry.
• Enforce Railroad, State, and Federal Policies.
