Job summary

RailPros is seeking a Roadway Worker in Charge (RWIC) to perform on-site roadway worker protection for activities on and around live railroad tracks. You will coordinate job sites, manage dispatcher/train communications, and oversee On-Track Safety in various track areas.

The role requires daily briefings, adherence to safety requirements, and the ability to operate radio procedures and reporting tools. Frequent travel across multiple states is expected, with per diem and mileage compensation

Qualifications

• Must be able to complete required physical demands.
• Able to effectively warn roadway workers of approaching trains.
• Understand on-track safety training and qualifications.
• Proficient in radio communication between RWIC/EIC and work group.

Responsibilities

• Provide jobsite protection per rules and coordinate with train dispatchers and engineers.
• Conduct daily job briefings with all personnel and enforce safety requirements.
• Prepare and submit required forms and reports.
• Place signs, derails, and other equipment as needed.
• Participate in safety classes and training.
• Maintain communication with RWIC supervisors about assignments and schedules.
