Job summary

RailPros, Inc. seeks a Roadway Worker in Charge (RWIC) to perform on-site roadway worker protection for activities on and around live railroad tracks, coordinating job sites, dispatcher communications, and various On-Track Safety tasks.

The role requires at least five years of RWIC experience with Class I/II freight railroads, strong radio communication skills, and the ability to travel frequently to project sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 5 years of RWIC experience with a Class I or II freight railroad.
• Successful completion of onboarding, background checks and ongoing training is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site roadway worker protection and communicate with dispatchers and engineers.
• Conduct daily job briefings and ensure safety requirements are followed.
• Prepare required electronic forms and reports (job setup, daily reports, invoices).
• Place signs, derail, and handle equipment weighing 15–90 pounds as needed.
• Maintain communication with RWIC supervisors about assignments and schedules.
• Uphold RailPros policies and foster a respectful, safe workplace.
