Job summary

RailPros is seeking a Roadway Worker in Charge (RWIC) to oversee on-site roadway worker protection around live railroad tracks. The role includes job site coordination, dispatcher communication, and various on-track safety duties in controlled and non-controlled areas.

The RWIC will perform daily safety briefings, manage required forms, and ensure adherence to safety requirements while coordinating with supervisors and clients across multiple states.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
• 10 years RWIC experience with BNSF or 15+ years with a Class I/II freight.
• Must pass pre-employment and recurring background checks, and drug/alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Provide required jobsite protection per rules and coordinate with dispatchers/engineers.
• Perform daily job briefings with all personnel and enforce safety requirements.
• Prepare and submit electronic forms (job set up, daily reports, invoices).
• Handle signs, derail, and equipment weighing 15–90 pounds as needed.
• Maintain communication with RWIC supervisors/managers about assignments.
