The role emphasizes task analysis, coaching, and using adaptive teaching strategies, with responsibilities including collaboration with employers, documentation, and ensuring safety and production standards are met.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a human services field preferred; minimum of a high school diploma or GED and one year of related experience working with adults with developmental and/or physical disabilities, preferably in a vocational setting, required.
• Flexible shifts and hours based upon client work schedules.
• Uses standard English in oral and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance in the performance of job duties and social integration skills for clients placed into competitive jobs or in community-based work adjustment.
• Perform task analyses at designated job sites to learn the specific tasks a client worker is expected to master.
• Teach clients the necessary steps required to complete job responsibilities.
• Use appropriate individualized learning strategies and identify any necessary accommodations.
• Work side-by-side with the client to ensure all aspects of the job are done to production and safety requirements.
• Train clients in skills including vocational, social & interpersonal skills, travel, safety, problem solving, and work culture.
• Maintain documentation of services and timely progress reports.
• Maintain professional relationships with employers and clients.
