Job summary

OhioGuidestone is seeking a compassionate Job Coach to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in developing skills for community employment. You will work under the Program Manager, creating coaching plans, assisting with career planning, and promoting inclusion and personal success.

Experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) or with IDD is preferred. The role emphasizes one-on-one training, collaboration with partners, and adherence to Individual Service Plans in

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate degree or higher in psychology, social work, human services, education or related field preferred.
• 1-2 years’ experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or a high-risk population.
• Trauma-informed care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build collaborative relationships with clients to support employment goals in community settings.
• Assist individuals in improving job skills and achieving career goals by developing coaching plans and setting goals.
• Provide one-on-one training tailored to the individual’s needs for employment.
• Develop Individual Service Plans and assist with career planning and resume writing.
• Complete progress notes daily and maintain participant information and required reports.
• Educate clients on public benefits (SSI, Medicaid) and how employment may impact them.
