Job summary

PsyPhyCare is seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor or Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) to provide on-site prevention and counseling in a federally supported residential youth program in Franklin, North Carolina. The program serves young adults aged 16–24 and emphasizes preparation for employment and independent living.

The role is a contract position with part-time availability, up to 20 hours per week, with schedule Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, no weekends, and on-site location

Qualifications

• Active Substance Abuse Counseling certification (LCAS) in NC.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience providing substance abuse or behavioral health services to adolescents or young adults.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivering individual and group substance abuse counseling services.
• Developing and facilitating alcohol, drug, and tobacco prevention and education programming.
• Engaging with students in residential and common areas.
• Collaborating with program leadership and interdisciplinary staff.
• Supporting student development and relapse prevention.
• Providing crisis intervention and behavioral support as needed.
• Developing individualized case management plans to improve student retention and promote overall wellness.
• Maintaining accurate, timely clinical documentation.
• Upholding HIPAA and applicable regulations.
