Job summary

PsyPhyCare, a division of Business Staffing of America, Inc., seeks a Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC or LADC) for on-site services at a federally supported residential youth program in Monroe, VA 24574. The role focuses on prevention, education, and direct counseling for young adults aged 16–24 in a structured setting.

This contract position offers full-time or part-time hours (up to 40 hours/week), with a Monday–Friday schedule and no weekends.

Qualifications

• Active and valid Substance Abuse Counseling certification (CSAC or LADC) in Virginia.
• Minimum of one year of experience providing substance abuse or behavioral health services to adolescents or young adults.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivering on-site substance abuse prevention, education, and counseling services to enrolled students and maintaining an active presence within the residential environment.
• Providing individual and group counseling services for substance use and related issues.
• Developing and facilitating alcohol, drug, and tobacco prevention and education programming.
• Engaging with students in residential and common areas (dormitories, recreation areas, dining facilities, counseling spaces).
• Collaborating with program leadership and interdisciplinary staff to support student wellness.
• Supporting student development, healthy coping skills, decision-making, and relapse prevention.
• Providing crisis intervention and behavioral support as needed.
• Developing individualized case management plans to improve student retention and overall wellness.
• Maintaining accurate, timely clinical documentation in compliance with HIPAA and regulations.
