Job summary

GFA Alabama, Inc. is seeking a dynamic Transportation Coordinator to oversee planning, coordination, and execution of transportation activities to ensure timely freight delivery.

You will use transportation management systems, route planning, GPS, and dispatch software to optimize routes, manage communications with carriers and customers, and ensure DOT compliance.

This in-person role requires strong organizational, problem-solving, and data-entry skills in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years of experience with transportation management systems.
• Experience with freight/shipping and DOT regulations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) for reporting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule road transportation operations and dispatch trucks.
• Communicate with carriers, drivers, suppliers, and customers.
• Enter data accurately for shipments and compliance records.
• Monitor routes and schedules using GPS and fleet tools.
• Support 3PL coordination and freight management activities.
