Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking an experienced Transmission Line Design Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team on major power infrastructure projects, delivering constructible, code-compliant designs that meet reliability and safety standards.

You will contribute to the design and delivery of transmission facilities, foundations, structures, and substations, while collaborating across disciplines to ensure quality and schedule adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or closely related discipline.
• 5+ years of transmission line design experience.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
• Working knowledge of PLS-CADD.
• Ability to work on-site daily at client offices in Rochester or Binghamton, NY.

Responsibilities

• Provide transmission line design and engineering consulting to utility clients.
• Design electrical transmission facilities including line layout, foundations, structures, insulation and conductor specs.
• Prepare project specifications for material and equipment purchase and installation.
• Deliver substations and control houses designs that meet industry standards and good constructability.
• Coordinate design activities with multi-disciplinary project team members.
