Job summary

Cox Fleet, a division of Cox Automotive Inc., is seeking a Shop Trailer Mechanic II for dedicated on-site shop work. This role performs certified DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and a range of repairs on trailers and light, medium, and heavy vehicles.

The technician will operate in a shop environment with supervision for advanced tasks and must uphold safety and quality standards. The position emphasizes safe, efficient repairs, proper documentation, and collaboration with service

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• DOT/FMCSA regulations familiarity beneficial.
• Experience with preventive maintenance and DOT inspections.

Responsibilities

• Perform certified DOT inspections and preventive maintenance inspections.
• Carry out light to heavy maintenance and repairs as assigned.
• Assist in welding, fabrication, and replacement of panels or bodywork.
• Document work performed on Repair Orders with photos and RO notes.
• Coordinate with Service Writer to determine customer needs and estimates.
