Cox Fleet is hiring a Shop Trailer Mechanic II for an on-site shop role. You will perform certified DOT inspections and preventive maintenance on light to heavy trailers, conduct repairs, and support senior techs. A strong safety mindset and ability to document work are essential.

This position emphasizes proper tool use, adherence to DOT regulations, and collaboration with the Service Writer to meet customer needs while maintaining productivity and quality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 3 years of related field experience (or 5 years alternative).
• Own a set of hand tools to perform required duties.
• DOT/FMCSA regulations and DOT medical card compliance.
• ASE training and certification are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform certified DOT inspections and preventative maintenance on trailers.
• Document work on Repair Orders with photos and parts used.
• Coordinate with Service Writer to determine customer needs and repair estimates.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and comply with safety policies.
