Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Systems Engineering Intern to join our team in Devens, MA. You will work with Systems Engineers on requirement-driven designs, trade studies, interfaces, risk management, and verification activities across projects.

Ideal candidates are pursuing engineering degrees in Systems, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, with hands-on systems engineering coursework. On-site work and housing is the intern's responsibility.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an engineering degree with focus in the fields of Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering.
• Have coursework or hands on experience in systems engineering principles; system structure & behavior, lifecycle perspective, requirement-driven designs, and interface & risk management.
• Requires a minimum of 2 internships or 1-2 years of full time work experience.
• Experience as a hardware (mechanical, electrical, controls) engineer or systems engineer.
• Master student enrolled in a System Engineering program.
• Must be highly self-motivated and driven to execute quickly with excellent troubleshooting/problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn. Must work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with CFS Systems Engineers, and relevant stakeholders on core Systems Engineering capabilities including: requirement-driven designs, trade studies, interface & risk management, technical budgets, integrated commissioning, verification & validation, transition to operations.
