Job summary

JE Dunn Construction’s Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) is seeking a Superintendent I to plan, manage and execute complex projects in the Iowa region. You will oversee safety, subcontractors, materials and schedules to ensure timely, profitable completion in line with JE Dunn’s standards.

You’ll develop work plans, lead meetings, monitor budgets, coordinate with owners and design teams, and uphold QA/QC practices across projects from data centers to manufacturing facilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred in construction management, engineering or related field.
• 3+ years construction experience and 1+ years field supervision experience.
• Ability to manage budgets, schedules and multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Leads all aspects of the company’s safety culture and creates awareness by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment.
• Manages subcontractors and organization of the overall job and workflow.
• Develops work plans for subcontractors and self-performed work.
• Coordinates and manages the care, custody and control of the project site.
• Leads meetings including daily standups and weekly trade meetings; participates in progress/OAC meetings.
• Creates and manages the project schedule; monitors costs and uses cost reports.
• Ensures quality compliance through specifications, QA/QC, and outside resources.
• Supports project closeouts and coordination with owners, architects and governing authorities.
